I like the shorts. The large pockets front and back are great. The fabric is nice and they cuff well when I want them a bit shorter. The stitching leaves something to be desired.

The belt doesn't stay tight. The small size is still a bit big for me but after a few strides the belt comes loose and the shorts don't sit right. Since the belt is sewn in and there are only three belts loops I have to customize two pairs of shorts to even wear them.

I love these and I’m ready for my second pair. I got 4 years out of these shorts until they started to fray. I got a hole in my pocket but other than that these shorts continue to perform!

NIce shorts but they put the worst belt they could possible source in them. Very thin, not like the old ones of course and they fold and crease in the wash. Put a real belt in them!

Did not find the shorts to be very flexible at all, thought they were very uncomfortable. Could not imagine actually wearing these on a hike.

I bought a pair of chili-lite shorts a couple of years ago and they were my favorite shorts. Unfortunately, they got ruined and I decided to get another pair. It seems like there was some design change though because the fit feels weird on the new ones. The crotch area feels tight and the leg openings feel a lot wider. It's also harder to get my hands in the pockets due to the tightness in the crotch area. KAVU, please bring back the old fit!

I was afraid these would be too short but they are the perfect length. The material is lightweight and flexible while still feeling substantial and not cheap. I am 5'11/177lbs with a 32-33 inch waist and the medium size fits great. Ordering two more pair. Just wish the blue and green colors were still available in medium but I am not surprised that they sold out. Would recommend.

I've been wearing these shorts for years and have had at least a dozen pairs of them. They are super comfortable, relatively quick to dry, have amazing back pockets, and are very versatile. At some point, though, Kavu changed the material in the pockets and the durability plumetted. The pockets were always the weakest part, but normally lasted a few years with regular wear. The new ones (with the black cloth pockets instead of the white), lasted less than a year.

Best shorts ever, perfect length, perfect for long day adventuring. Only issue I've run into, the last pair I ordered, last year, the belt wasn't as long as the same size pair I had purchased the year before. Since the belt wasn't long enough, and it's sewed in, I haven't been able to wear the second pair. Alas, going to order a new pair shortly, and fingers crossed the belt issue was just a one-off.

This picure shows on the left my 10 year old pair of Chilli-Lite shorts, and on the right the brand new pair. The fact that I am still wearing the original shorts ten years later is a demonstration of the excellent quality and durability of these shorts. I ran thru 6-8 pairs of other non-Kavu shorts in that time, all torn and thrown away. These shorts are great and very well made.

Best shorts I've ever worn!
I bought a pair in tan and a pair in grey last summer and they quickly became my favorite shorts. Very comfortable shorts with REALLY deep back pockets and relatively small from pockets. The front pocket is perfect for your phone (I have and iPhone X) and won't fall out when you sit down. The back pocket can fit anything, large water bottle, dog leash, a small county, pretty much anything up to the size of your thigh. The shorts are loose fitting but not baggie, when standing they sit just above my knee (I'm 6'1") and sitting about 5 inches above my knee. The stretchy waist band makes then very free moving and the built in belt keep them on your waist if you load up the pockets. The material dries very quickly and has great durability. I will definitely be getting another pair in the future, hopefully they are made in more colors in the future.
