This is my fifth hat of this type... hiked Zion, the Grand Canyon, major cities. On and off trail, this hat provides the shade and protection. Lightweight and easy to pack. Easy to machine wash. A great workhorse.

The color is not the same as shown in the picture. The care instructions tag stick out the bottom of the cap. There is no ‘D’ ring in the strap to attach a tether.
When I lose this cap to the wind, I won’t be sorry.

my fourth Kavu synthetic cap strap. These caps are cool in the heat, have a black underbill to reduce glare and the adjustable strap keeps in my the head, even on a windy boat ride.

I have a freakishly large head.
Bought the size L. it's one of the few hats Ive ever seen that has a big enough diameter to fit my head, and the strap isn't maxed out like my other hats! Took this had on a 3 day trip in the San Juan and it did great. Super light weight and quick drying, and I managed to find a sweet succulent pattern at a local store on San Juan Island.
My only complaint is that I wish the size L had a deeper fit. Hat feels like it's sitting very high up on my head and I can't pull it down far enough for it to feel secure due to the combination of the shallow fit and my huge head. If I wasn't wearing my sun hoodie over the hat I feel like it may have blown off my head. For reference, most images of people wearing this hat have the hat going down to their ears, and for me, there are about two fingers of room between the bottom of the hat and my ears.
Overall great hat for summer/wet activities, but I would love to see a larger size or a version with a less shallow fit!

Nice trail hat. It does feel like it could come down further on the sides to be a bit more secure. Otherwise lightweight and big brim, great for the trail.

I bought the galaxy hat a year ago and was so happy to find a fun hat that actually fit my small head and didn't go over my ears. I was really excited to get a new one as I have only been wearing the one hat. I order the same size (small) and was disappointed that it was a bit larger and covers my ears. So just a warning that the sizing may be inconsistent.

Fiancé bought me the regular strapcap and synthetic strapcap for Christmas in the same size. The regular one fits great, this one…. Not so much. Not sure if I got a mislabeled one or it really is that much smaller between the two styles. Will be gifting mine to someone, as it is a well made hat. Just a bummer that the sizing is so off

I’m in love with this hat. I get tons of compliments. The buckle is a little different than my other KAVU hat… sadly it broke rather easily. But the this hat might stay on my head until I die.

I live in Alaska and love to go fly-fishing. I purchased this Synthetic strapcap crazy paint in small and LOVE it. The photo is actually a different hat from the one associated with this link but it's still KAVU and still 5 stars. This hat has been to the Canadian Rockies, Nepal, Yosemite, and wherever else I go. Next to my camera it's my favorite piece of equipment.

Wore my Kavu synthetic strapcap on a four-day backpacking trip in the Black Hills. The light weight kept my head cool and the long brim kept the sun out of my eyes. Terrific product!

I like the hat a lot, it’s versatile and can be used as a staple. Mold the bill to your liking. Some funny looking bumps/space on the top of the hat but overall it’s great.

Lost an old hiking hat and knew not just any hat would do when I have evolved into a trail runner and need an all around beast hat for hot, muggy Western NC summers and cold, rainy, icy, snowy Western NC winters. Found a blue strap hat at a store near a local state park and rocked that bad boy all fall through the red, orange, brown, and yellow leaves. Loved it so much I got a tie dye and brown for Christmas. Greatest hat in the world and damn tough. It stays on in wind gusts at Mt. Mitchell (Attakulla in Cherokee) and dries fast from sweat as well as those quick pop-up mountain storms. Most importantly, it’s just as comfortable in the first hour of the run/hike as the it is the tenth hour. Overall, it’s an incredible hat that pairs perfectly with everything from a big mountain run to just hanging out with your kids in the front yard. I can confidently say I will always pick this hat over any hat. Thank you all!!

Love my first synthetic strap cap, worn every summer, hiking, camping, paddling, about 15 years until it literally shredded this year. Also love this soft blue color with blue strap. Hoping for a re-issue and/or more color choices — fun but not loud or super attention grabbing. As a teacher and mom I appreciate fun, but value functionality and not standing out.

Love the synthetic strap hats. I have been buying them for years. 2 major problems. lnterior band in hat bacon ripples and becomes visible. It wears out way faster than the rest of the hat. Second thing. Current color and pattern options aren’t great. No one wants photoshopped daisies or a galaxy pattern hat.
