So, I was looking for some fleece wear to replace my aging Sahalie fleece overalls and found Kavu.
I do love the fabric but not an overt fan of the piecework construction. Not so much the different fabrics as the patchwork mismatch of patterns. I’m also still debating both the elastic waist with no adjustment option and the elastic leg openings, again with no adjustment option.
As is, they are a comfortable, loose fitting wear and having chosen the green w/ black pockets as my best colour option I can say I love the fabric, lightweight warmth and deep pockets. For myself, just wishing in addition to the current patchwork colour choices an option for tone on tone would be welcome.
The leg openings are a bit frustrating as I sort out my best shoe choice since I can’t cinch them tighter to keep out the breeze when wearing flats / trainers or loosen them to fit over ankle boots or, again, tighten them to go inside taller boots. I understand the dilemma of adding a toggle cinch which can be uncomfortable. I’m considering adding a ribbon to allow me to tighten without getting in the way of comfort. No idea how to address the waist issue so just accepting they will sit lower and hoping my puppy doesn’t pants me during training walks with a pocket full of treats!
I do like these pants and do recommend them. They aren’t leggings nor joggers nor particularly flattering, if that’s your thing. They are cozy, lightweight, easy, casual loungewear and a no brainer for WFH, dog walking, beach combing or after sports wear when comfort is a priority.
