I have owned one of these since the late 90's and was happy to find they are still in production. It is the perfect pullover!
With some spray on waterproof or better yet wax these can keep you warm and dry and comfortable especially because they are cut to allow a sweater to fit underneath. I use mine for field trialing and dog training and hunting so I would love to find one in Blaze orange.

5' 5" Male with Size S. Thin down jacket underneath. It also fits my thick sweater just fine. If your an average height of 5 10", a M should be fine for most things.
TL;DR Quality build, meant for hard yakka. Removes the need for worrying about looks. Put on what keeps you comfortable out there, then this over.
Haven't taken it on a true test outing yet. The cloth is similar to Duck, so if you know what a carhart jacket is like; this is an unlined pullover version. It is somewhat heavy and water resistant (I wore it in a light PNW rain and stayed dry underneath. In a deluge wear a raincoat).
Style wise, how could you not go for the "Ugly" version to let an artist creative bent shine through? I think whomever made this one did a fine job of selecting. It is US made and from KAVU so expect to pass it down to your kids.
If I would change anything, I have two thoughts. One would be a kangaroo pocket. These pockets work, but could be bigger for when I wear gloves. A through pocket allows room for stashing. Second, The single front is great for doing chores and manual work because you don't snag on anything when holding at chest level. That said, I would love to see a full zip version with added inner pockets. It would be THE coat over jacket with a million layer combos underneath for year round wear.

I bought this to beat up. Great for chilly nights by the campfire, thick and stiff canvas, washes well, big enough to toss on over a thick flannel or sweater. I bought a Medium in Charcoal, and at 6' 175lbs I find it to be comfortably baggy but not overly huge. My one complaint is that the insides of all the pockets are white. I mean, why? They're gonna get stained. Just make them black. Other than that, great shirt jacket and I hope to have it for a very long time!

I know it's suppose to be big but wow. Need to downsize like 1 or 2 sizes. Bought a Medium and it look like an extra large. Not wearable in any situation. Would buy an XS haha but they're not provided.

Finally you have this shirt in the range again. I bought a green one in the early 90s. Had it in the sheep house, on hikes, when I was training dog, kind of always! Love and miss it!

So good! I got the ugly and mine is even better than the color combo in the photos. I like my layers to run big and normally wear a large but went with the medium for this. Fits great over a flannel or crew neck. The material is thick but comfortable and I like the 1/4 zip vs. a full zip for a layer like this. 10/10.
