I'm conflicted on these pants. I love the feel and style, but these are the only pants I've ever had rip on me. I saw some other reviews about the tears in the crotch and thought that it wouldn't happen to me. I am 6'2" 165lbs so these were pretty baggys on me and I am confused as to how this happened.
I hope that they continue to make these on the condition that they fix the material or construction to prevent this from happening.

Ripped like 2 hours into my day. Not sure if quality control issue or pants just suck.

The “belt” in these pants rarely ever stays in place(I own several pair, in older versions the quality was much better and the belt actually worked). This tear occurred walking up some stairs. Additionally, I’ve shared my honest experience along with photos in regard to quality as well as customer service experiences I’ve had in the past via reviews on this site that seem to have been deleted by site admin. Interesting. Anyhow, for the money being spent on clothing items from KAVU, I’d recommend several other brands that offer better quality clothing, that doesn’t have such loose tolerances in place regarding fit and overall quality, and provide better customer service. Deleting reviews detailing poor quality control in manufacture and bad experiences in customer service should be beneath such a company.

Enjoy these pants. Really like the fit. Got an XS and the waist was perfect but the thighs were really tight, couldn’t squat down in them.
Bumped to a size S which fit nicely, but the belt unfortunately just doesn’t work very well. A small amount of pressure can cause it to loosen which can be a real pain. Find myself frequently needing to tighten it.
If the cinch belt worked better these would be my absolute favorite pants.

Owned the original version of these pants back in the day and loved them to death. They have "modernized" the design to have a much slimmer fit, but didn't add any spandex or material for stretch. Now they feel tight and restricting. They look good and I will wear them, but they won't be climbing anything soon.
